I swear that my copy of Picture Miss Seeton is missing some incidents and dialogue that I remember from earlier readings. Specifically, some dialogue Miss Seeton overhears where the girl who dies in the novel is discussed in vulgar terms by some of the gang she hangs out with. Does anyone else remember these incidents? I'd like to think I'm not crazy.

There are two versions of Picture Miss Seeton. One includes Mrs. Benn, the headmistress of Miss S's school; the other doesn't, and also doesn't have "the Barn". There are other differences throughout. I believe that the version without Mrs. Benn is a later, edited version, that tightens up the script. I'm trying to find out how to get the second version -- perhaps it was only put out in paperback? Apparently, there were 6 printings of the book. I don't know when the edits were made.
