Goodreads asked Stuart Handley:

How do you get inspired to write?

Stuart Handley I mostly find inspiration for a new story from the visual media. I may watch a movie or a documentary and think, "well, what if...?" In our every day lives we are bombarded with events, personal or not, some good and bad and that is a further way I gain inspiration, but it all leads to the "What if..." scenario. My books tend to play out scenarios that are very plausible, take BioKill for example. What happens in the book could very well happen one day and look out America if it does. TanDrex is another example, our world is evolving so fast that computers are now a way of life, so when replicators, as in nanotechnology appear, there had better be some serious regulations in place to avoid catastrophe - but guess what? we will always have evil and corruption. We need the good guys to be aware.
