Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Brian Lloyd French
I was doing family history and came across a couple of characters who were in old Acadia back in the 1700s which started me thinking. Then, while travelling back to visit my mother, I listened to an audio-book by James Lee Burke. Burke's most well known character is a detective named Dave Robicheaux; an Acadian descendant, who aches with a sense of loss for his ancestral home. When I arrived back in Acadia and walked out on the Tintamarre marshes, with the wind blowing off the bay, I decided to write a story about what it would have been like for a family there at the time.
