The most romance you'll get is in this first book and it's in the middle, the action kicks off properly towards the end. And it's not a gushy, sickening romance, the romance is actually beautiful because it's about two people making each other stronger and he never once question's her strength just because she's his girlfriend and vice versa. The second book is pretty bleak in the romance and so is the third, it's mostly action compared to other dystopian romances. Hope this helps.

the relationship between four and tris is the best relationship i've ever read about. they both have endless love and respect for each other. i found their relationship beautiful and complex.

Personally I loved the whole love story aspect. I think that it dulls in comparison to twilight though. I have a vampire boyfriend myself and I can relate. It really spoke to me.
