Goodreads asked H. Tanhide:

How do you get inspired to write?

H. Tanhide I observe many things and take note of the characteristics of people I meet. Add to this my own experiences and suddenly I will come up with an idea. Normally that idea will be an event that I want to write about and I enjoy the build-up to that event in the story. Once I've reached the point in the story where my 'key event' has occurred, my mind tends to flood with ideas on how to bring the script to a conclusion... but I don't like getting there too quickly!
