Keep writing and hone your craft. Be original and accept advice. Always remember that writing is done for public consumption and the audience is the final arbiter of what it wants. Not everyone is going to like a particular piece. If something is rejected or criticized your writing it is not personal; the reader may just not have felt like reading your type of story that day. A reader will always have an opinion and a good writer will always learn from the valid ones and ignore the others. A bad review can often be a good education.
