Terry Baker Mulligan
When I'm stuck, I give the problem some space. Often, an idea on how to proceed will come to me in a day, a week or a month later. If not, I go back in and try something new. Sometimes I can "write forward," then return to the issues, weeks or months later.
Occasionally I learned that a section or chapter wasn't going anywhere because I was forcing the issue, or was too in love with my own writing and that part just needed to be eliminated.
