Megs Follett Not just mistreatment but the conflict between biological parents and foster/adoptive parents and the struggle the child often endures at the ignorance or literal denial and ignoring of the adults involved - the problems within the system, the whole thing. The continual feeling of rejection and torn loyalty. (note - I have NOT read this book - I am going from personal experience as a double rejected birth and adopted child and what I have been told / read up about this book and the amazing brave author)
Kate Mistreatment of children placed in foster care.
