How old is Door? She's described as appearing young, but the attraction between Door and Richard makes me hope she's older. Am I missing a detail that indicates she is older?

Even if Door is 'actually older' or some kind of ageless being, at no point in time between the beginning of the story and the 'almost kiss' is it ever indicated to Richard that she may be older than she looks. On top of that, she looks much like a 15 year old (he self described her as 15-16), so even if she is centuries old...she /looks/ 15, and his attraction is a major ick. I'm a huge Neil Gaiman fan and I have to admit I was super disappointed to see how we ever let this fly. (less)
