Dara Rose Yeah they're similar. They probably ended it the same way in the movie to A: Go along as well as they could with the book. Ending a book like that is a big decision. Cliff hangers are no fun, so maybe the author really wanted to put the cliff hanger in the movie too. And B: Marketing purposes maybe?? So they have a better chance of the people either reading the sequel or to ensure they watch the next movie. ???? Sorry those are my ideas.
