John Buzby asked:
When he mis-quoted " A small step for man... " which was scripted as "A small step for a man, a giant..." he must have been pretty, well, what? Overwhelmed with emotion? I've always wondered (but didn't want to spoil the moment) and now with the perspective of time and a great(?) friend (s) maybe this question can or is answered in this book?
This answer contains spoilers… (view spoiler)[This book does touch on this subject. Barbree offers his own personal best-guess based on his knowledge of Neil Armstrong which is that Neil was basically overwhelmed with emotion but especially with self-consciousness/"nerves" because Neil's humility made him uncomfortable in the limelight. However, Barbree does not claim to have ever asked Neil about it or to have heard any explanation or comment from Neil on the subject. (hide spoiler)]
