Katie Cleet and Raney are stargazing when he points out the Gemini constellation; "Castor is white-there. Pollux is darker. An orange star." In Greek Mythology they are twin sons of Leda; Castor the mortal son of Tyndareus and Pollux the immortal son of Zeus. When Castor dies Pollux splits his immortality to keep them together.
Later in book, Felipe reminds Charlotte of the myth and asks if she is the immortal twin come to rescue Raney. But this was a second foreshadowing of the discovery that Jake is a chimera and ultimately Eric's son.
