Kooshmeister asked:

Why does the cover show a guy opening his robe to reveal he's a skeleton? What has THAT got to do with an arctic expedition finding a lost city...? A lot of these H.P. Lovecraft covers are really strange and seem selected for their strangeness rather than having anything to do with the content of the books.

John Allen These are the ORIGINAL covers from when you could blasted from people for reading Lovecraft. They are the best.
Форката Префект This is a part of a painting by the artist Michael Whelan called ''Lovecraftean nightmare'' but why they choose this particular piece of the whole picture is a Lovecraftean mystery
Maria Morrison It's part of a bigger piece of which all the covers reveal the full madness which pieces all the tales of horror in his dreaming series together called the Lovecraftian Nightmare and more attached to the tale of the Shunned House than the Mountains of Madness.
