I'm not sure whether that is supposed to be a small or a large number. The numbers struck Oriana Fallaci as dangerous when they were half that.
Since then another number has gone up sharply - victims of Islam-inspired violence. No reason to suppose that that development will reverse itself.

Taking the whole of EU is meaningless, there are only very few in eastern Europe. For example, London has more than 12%, and Birmingham more than 20%, whereas England has more than 5%.
More important is the trajectory, for example, Bradford's Muslim population grew from 75k to 125k between 2001 and 2011. And that's the last census data (the new one coming up soon and will likely show significant growth again.)

Ha! Yeah! Whatever! Europe is still full of some of the richest countries on the planet. They pollute, support/cause wars, problems around the world in the name humanitarianism. The author seems harmless, but he sounds like the UKIPer who was afraid of black people and didn't want them in their home. Just more fear. Europeans! Get over yourselves!

You leave out that the current 6% Islamic population is almost entirely either foreign born, outside of Europe, or their parents were from outside Europe. The 6% are not Native-Europeans. There is a small Muslim population in the Balkans that is Native-European but they by themselves would be less than 1% of Europe's population...This is important, because it means that the vast majority of Muslims have been in Europe not even a hundred years, and if they are 6% today then what will it be a hundred years down the road - 12%, 18%, 30% or higher - it is part of the death of European culture and the European leadership by allowing mass immigration, are the real cause of this, they set the policies.
