How do you deal with writer’s block?

B.A. Shapiro I ask myself if plumbers get plumbers' block and force myself to sit in my chair. I have a five page minimum when I'm working on a first draft, but these five pages can be terrible. They usually contain a lot of dialogue as this takes up more room on the page. Then the next day I have something to start with.
