Kaitlin Bevis:
I just finished reading the Daughters of Zeus series. I absolutely loved them! I could not put them done! I just had a few questions: 1. What inspired you to create Hades character? 2. When did the idea to write the Daughters of Zeus come to you? 3. Will you ever do a spin-off series with Hades and Persephone? 4. What has been the best book you have read this year? 5. What advice do you have to aspiring authors?

I'm so glad you enjoyed my books :).
I was inspired to write Persephone when I saw a preview for the remake of Clash of the Titans. It was something about the phrase "Damn the gods," that got me thinking about the Persephone myth, and how it's always felt incomplete to me, but I didn't want to write a horror story or an unhealthy romance, ergo, Hades had to be a good guy. The Hades/Persephone series is the first trilogy, after that, I spin off to Aphrodite's trilogy, but the two are still active characters and have cameos or POV chapters. I anticipate that will continue when I get around to writing the next trilogy.
The best book I've read this year... I can't remember if this was early this year or late last year, but I LOVED The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black. It was truly amazing.
As for my advice to aspiring authors, join a writers group and listen to them. Even if you don't agree with their advice, you'll be getting a preview of what your reviews will look like if you keep the book unchanged. Every slight negative review I've ever had has been something brought up in writers group that I was able to take the time and weigh the needs of the story against the perception of the readers and decide whether or not I wanted to let it play out the same way or change. Making a choice with intention is always better than getting surprised by someone's interpretation.
