Gbolahan asked:

How come the Russians in Red Son swear Jesus? Like when Pyotr first met Batman, he was like, "Jesus God Almighty!" What's that all about? Were they speaking Russian or English?

David W. A lot of Russian and Eastern European people are Christians as well, only their most popular church is Orthodox Eastern instead of Roman Catholic or Protestant. The Soviet regime might have frowned upon religion as being "bogus", but afaik it wasn't outright outlawed.
Andre Maybe a Soviet Russian would have said that, but I cannot say for sure and based on what I saw of DC and Marvel so far, they have no idea about phrases of speech or general conventions and nuances of languages outside of English, unless they hire a native speaker to do it right for once.
SmychkaMayakovsky O боже! Why wouldn't they? You do realise that Russians are not from another solar system, right? The history of the Eastern Orthodox Church and Christianity in Russia and in Europe is older than the existence of the USA. Why are you incredulous about the fact that exclamatory phrases and expressions including references to 'Jesus', 'God' or God Almighty' would be uttered by a citizen of the Soviet Union or Russia? What is confusing to you about this?
