Thank you so much for this wonderful series! I have enjoyed each and every word! The characters and their relationships are what make these books really come alive for me. I have to ask: In all the years covered in the trilogy... why didn't Eliot ever find a boyfriend? :(

More than a lot of the other characters, Eliot is based on a real person who so far seems to be permanently single (though far from celibate). So I felt funny giving him a boyfriend in fiction. Kind of a dumb reason when you think about it. I do address it a bit in the book -- Eliot thinks about it. He just doesn't seem to be in a boyfriend place right now.

I typically describe The Magicians as a fantasy epic for nihilists-- Harry Potter or Narnia without the meaningfulness, direction, hope or the (fulfilled) sense of a grand adventure. It’s not a great answer to “what’s it about?” What would you say, if you were trying to explain it to someone who has never heard of it?
