What does Bernie look like?

Stephanie He's been described as pretty tall, I picture him at 6'1" for some reason, and he doesn't like to get over 200lbs. Tries to stay in somewhat decent shape but still could work on his cardio. It sounds like he's a lot better looking than people are guessing, though, from the way women tend to respond to him in the books. Maybe Chris Evans could play him in a movie or Josh Duhamel?
May Grider Bernie is pretty tall, maybe not quite as tall as he seems to Chet, but often the tallest person in the room. So, maybe 6’2” or so. As a pitcher for Army in college, he’d have muscular legs — a little stocky. I imagine his nose has been broken a few times. We know from a later book that there’s been some dental work that maybe doesn’t quite match, so imperfect teeth. Shambling. I picture someone like a cross between Robert Mitchum and Robert Urich. Or Michael Shannon with a bit more weight.
Lenna I'd add a little overweight (huffing and puffing is mentioned a few times). I picture him like a War Games-era Barry Corbin :) http://unrealitymag.com/wp-content/up...
Deborah D. Based on the descriptions of Chet in the first 3 e-book prequels and the first 3 full-length books, I would say Chet is a Border Collie (or a BC mix).

From Chet's descriptions of Bernie, he is old enough to have served at least a tour or two 'in the desert', has some martial arts skills intact despite some kind of leg injury and a touch of reticence when it comes to talking about his past. (Book 2 & 3 we do meet a couple of his buddies)

He seems to be a quiet, observant fellow with a powerful physique. Remains cleancut, lightish colored eyes though not as fit as he would like he still maintains his weapon & fighting skills.

My impressions...what are yours?
