Goodreads asked Ian Lewis:

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Ian Lewis I'd visit the world which I'm building for a forthcoming novel that will be released in 2019. The working title is "The Reeve Book One: Absence of Light." It's an alternate version of North America, one in which the world has been plunged into darkness due to a societal collapse at some point in the past. So instead of science, technology, and culture advancing the way it did in reality, the world is stunted and still trying to catch up. Because the past has diverged from the path we know, the rate and order in which events unfold is entirely different, which will make for some interesting and unexpected nuances to this world. The backdrop is very much a fantasy, a western, and Batman all thrown into a blender.

Once arriving in this world, I would seek out Logan Hale, the main protagonist, who is a Sheriff type of character charged with protecting his city. I would try to convince him to go after the woman he loves or else forget about her altogether, because his failure to do either one of those things will cause him to make a very costly mistake down the road, one that will threaten to destroy his city. Or maybe I wouldn't do so. Otherwise, you as the reader would be deprived of conflict, which is what makes for good fiction. Stay tuned.
