Actually, I don't trust inspiration and never expect it to arrive. What gets me writing every morning is the joint fact that I love it, and have deadlines. It is my job. If teachers, nurses, oil-rig workers or bakers waited to be inspired, then we'd be short of people doing that work. Honestly, inspiration is over-rated! What I prefer to call the emotional drivers that get me to the keyboard are curiosity (I love to investigate relationships and mysteries on the page). Professionalism - as I've mentioned, it's my job. And most important, creative enjoyment.
