If you could be any paranormal creature what would you be and why?

That's a hard one for me to answer, but in all honesty I'd probably go an elf. Not to be confused with a gnome or a Keebler elf, but cool Tolkien elf. I have no desire to live forever or really have magical powers or super strength. While I don't mind reading about shape-shifters, the idea of actually doing it kind of creeps me out. But a long life, and immense wisdom, that appeals to me.
