How do you get inspired to write?

Martin D. Gibbs My freshman English teacher promised an A to the first person who got themselves published. I took this as a challenge and submitted dozens of poems to magazines and journals: Within a couple of months, Chimera's Children's magazine picked up my poem and I was off and running.

Thank you, Mr. Poss: You told me to never quit my day job, but keep writing for the pleasure. I've kept your advice in mind these twenty years hence, and I enjoy every minute of writing.
