Goodreads asked Pete Riggs:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Pete Riggs Figure out when the most productive time of the day is for you. For me, it's in the morning before work, when I'm still fresh. Make a habit of doing at least 20-30 minutes of writing at that time, each work day, and take the weekend off.
It all adds up... and the benefit to making it a habit is that once something is a habit, it's automatic and easy. You just keep doing it without having to think twice. The second important part of this is to protect that time - in my case, I also made a habit of going to bed earlier than many because that meant I would definitely have the writing time I needed the next day.
