I have many ways to jump-start my creativity. Thunderstorms did it for a while, the sound of the ocean, reading something new, writing something new... But the most effective method for me is to act out the scenes I'm stumped on. I love to slip into my characters' skin, and sometimes I have to be them to know what they'll do next. Once I'm feeling connected to the character, the scene usually flows out. My neighbors may think I'm crazy, but I'm okay with that.
