Goodreads asked Elaine Mansfield:

How do you get inspired to write?

Elaine Mansfield I write a weekly blog, so my readers motivate me to write something new. I take photographs daily, especially nature photographs, and these often inspire a blog such as a recent one about an event called Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare with photos of over 300 swimmers, many boaters, a huge welcoming party, and Cayuga Lake. I'm inspired by books, blogs, and articles written by others. I'm giving a TEDx talk this fall, so I've been listening to the best TED talks and they always inspire. I've taken a weekly writing class for five years called Writing through the Rough Spots with Ellen Schmidt (Ithaca, NY) because her classes helps me create new pieces from fresh angles.
