Mallory WALKING DEAD! :D

message 2: by Abinadi (new)

Abinadi Ayerdis +1 for the Walking Dead.

message 3: by Holly (new)

Holly I feel like I could deal with zombies. Yea there would be a lot but its doable.

message 4: by Brent (new)

Brent Markus I assume that in Dinosaur Apocolypse I'd have the ability to ride a T-Rex, this makes it the best apocolypse by far.

message 5: by Dan (new)

Dan Jones I was about to choose Ice age, but then I saw Brent's comment, and realized what I had to choose.

But I really wanted to answer, a completely devastating world war.

message 6: by Candace (new)

Candace Schaddelee +1 for the Walking Dead.

message 7: by Abinadi (new)

Abinadi Ayerdis Dinosaurs sound good at first, until you remember that this is an apocalypse. So the dinosaurs will be killing people, not giving them rides. Zombies are much easier to kill than velociraptors. Think about it.

message 8: by Dan (new)

Dan Jones Abinadi, the premise of the question is that you survive the apocalypse, so if I know I'm going to survive, what do I care how I get there?

And with a dinosaur apocalypse, maybe you survive by taming the dinosaurs, so they can give you rides.

See, what you never knew is that the Flintstones is not historical fiction, but sci-fi. It's set in a future where dinosaurs returned to the earth, and only the bravest warriors survived by taming the wild beasts to make them into disposals and telephones.

I was going to say i wanted to ride a triceratops. While the T-rex would be great you must remember they have little arms. The Triceratops could skewer the T-rex from below.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Molly I await your 1-5 minute talk about this.

message 11: by Ree (new)

Ree Linker +1 for the Flintstones as post-apocalyptic. You just made a stupid cartoon 1000 times more interesting.

message 12: by Ross (last edited Feb 04, 2013 11:14AM) (new)

Ross I'm surprised to see meteor impact is doing better than global ice age. A meteor impact could go a few different ways, and I don't think any of them are preferable to a natural ice age. If a large meteor strikes the earth there's the immediate explosion and flaming death, or massive global flooding if it impacts in the ocean, neither of which are very fun and leave a huge mess in the aftermath. But the main problem is all the debris ejected into the atmosphere that would cover the earth, block out the sun, and cause temperatures to plummet everywhere. In an ice age, while temperatures would be very cold, there is still a possibility for agriculture.

Dinosaurs are definitely preferable to zombies. Dinosaurs are still governed by natural laws. The vast majority of dinosaurs are herbivores. They would wreak havoc on crop production, but they aren't hunting you down. The predators of the Jurassic period are terrifying, but there just couldn't be that many of them or they would run out of things to eat and die off. Also, T-Rex was mainly a scavenger.

message 14: by Sara (new)

Sara I would like to know once and for all if dinosaurs have feathers, and what they look like. Plus, if dinosaurs are thriving in this apocalypse than the environment is probably pretty sustainable. Also, riding an Allosaurus would be way more fun than a T-Rex. It's like the difference between riding an elephant vs. a horse. Sorry Texas, bigger is not always better.

message 15: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Dinosaurs are scary. Zombies used to be your friends. I would rather kill a dinosaur than my zombie friend.

message 16: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Dinosaurs are useful for food, fuel, and transportation. Zombies, meteors, and ice are not really useful at all.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Podcast was great but how do I subscribe without iTunes o.O you won't ever get my subscription count unless I do right?

message 18: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Zombies are gross. Dinosaurs would win. The meteor would completely change the environment of the earth worse than a ice age would, so the ice age is the best choice.

message 19: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brent wrote: "I assume that in Dinosaur Apocolypse I'd have the ability to ride a T-Rex, this makes it the best apocolypse by far."

Amen to that! Dino apocalypse all the way.

message 20: by Maria (new)

Maria Dinosaur apocalypse, even though that's pretty much impossible. Most dinosaurs are herbivores because of the way food chains work. It's not like we'd be seeing Tyrannosaurus Rexes every time we turned around. And they wouldn't be choosing such small prey even if they were really ubiquitous. It's dinosaurs closer to our size that might single us out as dinner. And for someone who has never read or watched anything apocalypse related and could care less, I have spent way too much time on this.
