Nooo you see, if you throw them out or lock them up, they'll die but it will be longer and more drawn out and they'll have to suffer more. This way you can ensure that they die quickly and as painlessly as possible AND you're increasing your supplies which means you'll survive longer and have a greater chance of reaching Earth.

cannibalism sounds like the logical option but the idea of it makes me squeamish. then again if I actually reach the tipping point of starvation, I don't think I'd give a damn.
