Emmeline Kazan never! that's like book abuse..

Ashwood (애쉬 우드). That's just wrong, lol. In my experience, you can use almost anything as a makeshift bookmark.

message 3: by Anna Serene (new)

Anna Serene Yes, but I always hate myself for it

message 4: by hayden (new)

hayden if it's a really old, worn copy, or something I'm reading for school, i have no problem bending pages. if it's new and pristine, HELL NAW.

message 5: by Kainat (last edited Jul 03, 2016 08:50PM) (new)

Kainat 《HUFFLEPUFF & PROUD》 I don't like using bookmarks. I rather just fold the pages, doesn't really bother me. I also highlight my favorite parts and then fold the pages, so it'll be easier for me to find it next time.

message 6: by Lexie (new)

Lexie God no! And @Ashwood I agree

message 7: by Julia (new)

Julia I used to treat my books so carefully lol. Now I fold pages, write notes, and highlight because it adds character. But I almost always buy used books.

Same!!

message 9: by Anna (new)

Anna M. I never fold pages or earmark or highlight or write in margins.... But I do agree that it does add character, and I wish I could do it... I'm just not brave enough. In the back of my mind I'm also afraid that the next person reading it would get a glimpse into my thoughts while I was at that point. Maybe I'm just weird.

I think that may be why I do it, so if in 50 years my nieces and nephews read my books, they get to see my thoughts and maybe reply to them in the margins. IDK, I'm weird lol

No, you aren't weird. I wouldn't want anyone else to read my thought/feelings either. It almost becomes a personal-fictional diary. That's why no one is allowed to even touch my books anymore.

message 12: by Anne (new)

Anne Since I only read ebooks there is no page folding. But I used to fold them. I loved seeing the dog eared copies of my books and the more dog eared it was the more it showed the books I read multiple times.

message 13: by Cami (new)

Cami Page folding is sacrilege.

message 14: by Ashley (new)

Ashley If it's something I'm reading for school, I do tend to fold pages, but I always hate myself for it

message 15: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth No way, and that's a big No, that's so Wrong ,its goes against the code of been a book worm.

message 16: by Punya Nayak (new)

Punya Nayak If its a textbook or an old book I tend to fold the pages and highlight the important parts. If its someone else's book or a library book then I dont.

message 17: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle Yes. I am a monster!

Trisha (The Tea Reader) I used to but I don't anymore, I only do it if its for school or its a old worn copy. I use bookmarks only now but I only have one or two of them, I need more of them.

message 20: by Alessandra (new)

Alessandra Crivelli I hated, but since I read mostly on train and I don't have a pencil with me I've fold the pages where there are my favourite quotes so I can underline them later.
Everytime I'm doing it my heart breaks.

message 21: by Emma (new)

Emma No! I will grab anything in my bag (receipt, my phone) and use it as a bookmark, but I refuse to fold pages (if i really don't have anything, I can just remember the page number or the chapter).

{ U n s o l v e d M y s t e r y } Heck no! That's why I use bookmarks. =)

The bookmark I'm using now says "Boo" and has a ghost. Yes, I'm ready for Halloween already. Hehe =))

message 23: by Kim (new)

Kim Kaso Never! My books look barely read when I pass them on. I treat them the way I feel about them, with love.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I do but I shouldn't!

message 25: by Cairn (new)

Cairn I mostly read library books, so I don't EVER fold book pages. It makes my so mad when I come across a book that has been written in!

message 26: by JaeRavenClaw (new)

JaeRavenClaw Definitely not. If i dont have a bookmark already with me, I grab the nearest thing, a receipt, a post-it, anything other folding a page.

message 27: by Jasmin (new)

Jasmin I never fold, earmark or even highlight a phrase, it just feels so wrong for me, like I'm hurting the book as much as it hurts me haha. But I've seen some people do it and it actually looks cool as long as it's not my book, I don't have enough guts to do it haha!

message 28: by Nyah (new)

Nyah I only "doggy ear" books if there not mine like a library book , but if its a book I bought with my own money they are all in perfect condition.

Latanya (Crafty Scribbles) Folding pages equates to blasphemy. I'll make a bookmark from whatever's near.

message 30: by Cheri (new)

Cheri I use a bookmark also or the receipt from the library.

message 31: by CK (new)

CK It's funny because if the book is already a bit tatty, as in I picked it up at a charity shop then I probably will but if the book is brand new, crisp and fresh, then I don't like to. I try to remember my page number or stop at a chapter start.

message 32: by Chocoholic77 (new)

Chocoholic77 To the 77 people who have done this quiz and answered yes our depends...

WHAT SORT OF LIFE TO YOU LIVE?!?!?! :P

message 33: by Hailee (new)

Hailee Absolutely not! Well except I did for 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. Didn't bother me for those, but definately not for any others.
