The word “Christ” is a problem in semantics. Because of a lifelong conditioning, most of us think of “Christ” and “Jesus” as synonymous. Lest it be thought that we are making a big issue out of a small matter, we must emphasize that this distinction is the hinge upon which the whole Gospel message turns.
