My Name is Memory

I have fallen in love, and she is the one who endures. I killed her once and died for her many times and I still have nothing to show for it. I always search for her; I always remember her. I carry the hope that someday she will remember me.

I don’t know about heaven and hell, and I haven’t met God yet. But I have to admire the design.

Which is why my story would be a lot shorter and more cheerful if I had simply loved Sophia from the start and found some way to make her love me. I wouldn’t have spent more than a thousand years waiting for her and searching for her and trying to hold her close enough for long enough to overcome our first encounter.

A loving soul was always more beautiful over the long haul, but actual prettiness was fleeting.

“Love who you love while you have them. That’s all you can do. Let them go when you must. If you know how to love, you’ll never run out.”

He kissed her with everything, because loving a person was all you could do.
