He twists suddenly to bite my throat, working a bruise into my skin. “You just wanted to end up under me where you belong. But little bunny… all you had to do was ask, and I’d be so happy to teach you your place.”
I’m dumbfounded, and I can’t help the small note of disappointment I feel. He didn’t really miss me. He just wants someone gullible and afraid of him to help him not get arrested.
“Because they aren’t you.” “But I’m nothing—” “You’re mine, aren’t you? That means you’re not ‘nothing.’”
Not when insecurity and nerves sink into my skin like rain. I look better than normal, sure, but I’m never very nice about my own appearance.
