“Gotta tell you, Rule, I’m a fan of kissing with all that metal in your face. I never thought that was something I would be into, but you sure make it work.” Oh man, that was the hottest thing I had ever heard, ever. I hooked an arm around her shoulder. “And you know, maybe next time you could just pee in a circle around me so that they know you’ve already been there.”

“Rule, if this goes bad it’s gonna be so, so bad.” Her voice was just a husky whisper against my chest. “True, but if it’s good, it’s going be so very, very good.”

“You’re like good whiskey, Shaw. You go to a guy’s head quick and smooth.

She didn’t hesitate to kiss me back and I decided then and there that kissing Shaw was probably as close to heaven as I was ever going to get.

“I’m not giving you his number because he’s mine and if you get anywhere near him I swear to God the things I’ll do to you will be chronicled on Investigation Discovery for years to come.”

“You have me, Shaw, any way you need me, any way you want me, you have me.”

“Because it’s always been you even when I didn’t want it to be, even when it broke my heart over and over again. It’s just always been you.”

“When I look at you I don’t see anything but you, and Shaw, you are perfect. I don’t care what color your hair is, if you’re pale or tan, if you have makeup on or just woke up—all I care about is that when I look at you, you always look back and see me. You’re beautiful inside and out and if you wanted to tattoo all that pretty white skin from head to toe, I would be honored to put it there for you, but if not, I’ll take you all smooth and milky white any chance I get.”

“I’m learning easy things never really pay off. It’s the things that make you work that really matter.”

“Here’s my heart, Shaw. You have it in your hands, and I promise you’re the first and last person to ever touch it. You need to be careful with it because it’s far more fragile than I ever thought, and if you try to give it back I’m not taking it.

“Come on, Shaw, just a little kiss. It’s my birthday and I missed you so bad.”
