Some fathers give you life. Some show you how to live it. Thank you for showing me how.
He could kiss me for the first time, or the twentieth time, or the millionth time and I wouldn’t care if it was a first or not, because I’m pretty sure we just broke the record for the best first kiss in the history of first kisses—without even kissing.
“Whatever this is, I don’t want to analyze it. I don’t want you analyzing it either, okay? Let’s just be grateful I finally found you.” I laugh at his last sentence. “You say that like you’ve been looking for me.” He furrows his brows and places his hands on the sides of my head, tilting my face up to his. “I’ve been looking for you my whole damn life.”
Whatever connection we thought we had before this… it doesn’t compare to this moment. No matter what happens between us in this life, this moment has just merged pieces of our souls together. We’ll always have that, and in a way it’s comforting to know.
