Quinn: I won’t be your backup plan. Me: You could never be a backup plan.
“Might be easier to forgive you if you got on your knees.” His eyebrows rise. I thought he’d laugh with me, but he doesn’t. “Quinn,” he says, his tone raspy and low, “if you want me on my knees, I can get on my knees.”
“I would wait forever for you,” he says.
She might be glass, but I want to see how easily she breaks.
“But the funny thing about depression, which isn’t actually funny at all, is that it sneaks up on you when you least expect it.
“I don’t want to want you,” she says. “But I do.”
