Coming out is about coming to terms with how you feel about your identity and how you want other people to view your identity. Because of that, you may have to come out, even to yourself, more than once. It’s totally okay to come out as one thing at first, and then later on realize that you’ve had a shift in your identity and you see your sexuality or your gender differently.

One LGBTQ+ symbol I’m 99.9% sure you know about is the six-stripe rainbow flag. The idea of the flag started in the 70s when artist Gilbert Baker created an eight-stripe flag which also included hot pink and turquoise stripes. This was refined to six stripes over the years and it became the symbol we use today. Each color has its own significance to the LGBTQ+ community:
