“I’m just saying that if she wants to date Luke, kill him with kindness. She’ll know you care, and she’ll trust you. Once you have that, you can prevent fires instead of putting them out.”

“The name’s Merle Blatty,” the old man said as he brought the pipe back to his

mouth for another toke. “And you’re in my house.”

“Your entire family is in danger. Won’t do ya no good to pack bags and kick rocks at this point. You’re all already infected.”

“Amelia,”

I saw that she had a rope around her neck that was tied to the ceiling fan. Those eyes glowed bright orange like a fire was burning in her mind.

She laughed with a voice that wasn’t hers, and then she jumped.

I dug that well and opened Hell’s back door, and Gertie gave permission for the evil to come through.

“Luke is burning in Hell,”

“We must leave right now. Until we seal the gateway, your entire family is in grave danger.”
