The fae lashed out like a scorpion tail, his hands clutching Caden’s throat. “She left with them!” He raged, shaking Caden. “Because of what your fucking father did to her. He turned her into one of them,” Scorpion belted,
“You will only get yourself killed.” I licked my busted lip. “We will get her back. I guarantee I will be by your side to do it, but there’s nothing you can do right now.” It took a few more beats before Scorpion picked up her pack, looking at me. “She’s mine.” “I know.” I nodded, understanding his meaning. “We’ll get her back.”
It will kill all three of you if you keep going down this road.”
“You are enough, Brexley,” Tad said softly. “Just you.”
“You are not the only one in this story who defies nature, who should not exist. It is only together that you can right nature’s balance.”
“Rosie…” Killian’s chest rose and fell, his fingers curling around her face, his eyes wild, like he was ready to set fire to the world and happily watch it burn. “Wake. Up.” He shook her limp body. “Now!” he demanded. “You are not fucking leaving me.” He shook harder. “That’s an order!”
“Wake up. Do it to piss me off, fight me, annoy me, I don’t care… but you cannot leave me, Nina.”
“Whose pussy is this?” He circled my entrance, pushing in just a little more, then pulled away. A growl caught in my throat, my arms tugging against their binds. “Mine.” I glared at him. “But I’ll let you live inside it from time to time.” A smirk tipped his lips, his eyes glittering. “Wrong answer, Kovacs.”
This was the highest bliss, feeling him inside me, having him back, knowing this was my forever. Him and me, no matter what we came across or what we had to fight.
“Don’t ever fucking do that again.” I could feel no more anger. His walls were down, showing me his truth. “Whatever it is, we’re in this together.” He tipped his forehead into mine. “Okay? You don’t run. Not from me.”
I tipped one eyebrow up back at him. “Fine. Mate,” he rumbled against my lips. “Happy?” “Ecstatic.” My mouth grazed his. “I love you.”
He didn’t need to say it back. I could feel it surround me, penetrating my soul. I knew how he felt about me. But as our bodies started moving together again, the carriage squeaking in protest, I heard a whisper brush my ear. “Same, Sotet démonom. In every fucking color.”
Everything about her caused my chest to seize, rendering all logic moot and digging into the foundation of my being. The gaping hole I had felt when I thought she was dead. The terror of losing her. I had whispered to her the entire journey, begging her to stay with me. To live. Now, all I felt was burning rage and embarrassment. Not only for feeling those things but letting everyone see. For forgetting who I was.
Ash, Lukas, and Kek were drinking tea by the fire, the three of them in their own world. I didn’t know how serious any of them were about each other, but the energy coming off them went beyond lust and beyond simple friendship. They just worked, as if each one offered what the other one was missing.
All three looked so giddy around each other, smiling, laughing, having their inside jokes, and sly shared glances. It was like a knife in my chest. A jealousy I tried to cut out of myself and never experience again.
The only thing I do know right now is I almost died. And there was only one person who kept me holding on to life.”
“You! You wanker!” she burst out, her hands flying, shoving at my chest. “Your voice the entire ride here… I clung to it… it kept my heart pumping. And when everything was fading away, it was your voice I heard calling me back. You saved my life. Not just because you knew about the nectar, but…” An infuriated sob hitched from her throat. “It was you I felt gripping my soul and keeping me rooted to the earth.”
“I can suddenly feel you everywhere. Under my skin, in my head. From the moment I came back…” She stepped back from me. “And you stood there like a coward.”
I want someone who will fight for me. Who loves me more than his own issues. Who could give a fuck about right or wrong when it came to me. And if Wesley is that man, then I guess you’re right. I should return to him.” She turned away from me. Rage-filled terror plunged into my system, tearing down every one of my walls, showing me the only certainty I knew. Her. Not the fear of her, but the fear of losing her. Of watching her happy with someone else when I knew she was mine. I could feel it in every fiber of my being, screaming from my soul.
“This character you are trying to portray. He doesn’t fit anymore, if he ever did. He only keeps you confined. I see you, Killian. I see the passion you keep inside. All the hurt, pain, anger, and violence. We are the same.”
I don’t care who’ve you killed. Your seedy past. Or the fact you are a lord or have money. I don’t give a shite, Killian. It means nothing to me. I just want you.”
“Nina,” she whispered. “I want to hear you say my real name. Just once.” My dick hardened to the point of pain. “Nina…”
“Fuck foreplay. I need you inside me. Now.” I wanted nothing more, but her pleasure meant more than mine. I didn’t want to be another male on her list.
“I won’t be riding a fae lord.” She rubbed her thumb through my cum, then took it to her mouth and sucked it off. “I’ll be riding you, not the title. And that’s a ride I might want to stay on.”
“I had an orgasm.” She gaped. “Two, if I recall.” I leaned down, kissing her. “You don’t understand… I haven’t had one from…” “From what?” “From vaginal sex… like ever.”
He jerked his head to the side, lines denting his forehead, not looking at me. “Fuck,” I breathed out. “You love her.” His jaw clenched, his hand running over his face, head slightly shaking as if he was trying to deny it.
He huffed through his nose, his shoulders easing a bit. He snorted, his head shaking. “You know you’re naked here too, right?”
It was then I noticed how brightly she was glowing and shimmering. The fae magic was still settling into her system, though I could sense it was far more than that, as if a thousand invisible webs connected her to Killian. Killian and Rose. Scorpion and Hanna. I had missed a lot.
“If that fist gets any closer to her, I will gut you right here,” Killian bellowed, grabbing Wesley by the collar and shaking him. “You want to fight me? That’s fine. But don’t ever get near my mate again.”
“Because you have met your match, my boy. So do not screw it up.”
“Yeah, daddy did a number on us both,” Warwick grumbled. “It took me a while to admit, but I felt it almost from day one. And now I can’t get rid of captain one-pump. We have a bond.”
Birdie double fisted her favorite guns, shooting at the army coming at us, but it was Scorpion firing like killing Tracker was his only goal. His expression was pure rage; his blame focused on one man. Scorpion’s emotions were like gasoline spilling over the ground, ready for the match to strike.
“You’re mine forever now, Farkas. I’m not setting you free again. We are in this together. We fight together. We die together. His eyes darkened, his shoulders expanding, his head leaning into mine. “Know this. I wasn’t free until you, Sotet démonom,” he muttered for only me to hear, his mouth brushing mine. “And we fight, fuck, and survive together. Whatever it takes.”
“Hey, you two horny freaks, can we focus?” Ash huffed, refilling his weapon. “Kind of in peril here.” “Foreplay for us,” Warwick muttered, turning his attention back to the legion advancing on us. “And you have no room to talk about being a horny freak.” Ash grinned, his head bobbing. “Fair enough.”
The notion of losing him, of watching it happen and not being able to do anything to stop it, triggered a rage so deep, a love so pure, there was nothing I wouldn’t do.
“Eli, stop!” A woman’s voice cut through, the beast instantly stopping, but a deep growl snarled from its fanged teeth. “Don’t!”
Along with the sound of bones popping, a low groan came from the spot the great beast blended into, but when he stepped back, a man of about 6’4”, ripped, gorgeous, tattooed, and naked, stood there. “Azta…” Wow. I blinked, unable to look away from the man’s physique. Warwick looked over at me, one brow cocked. I would pay for that later.
What freaked me out was it felt familiar. Like something I already knew. As if the same magic was in us both.
“You’re Aneira’s niece, Ember.”
“You’re a fucking Dae.” Warwick inhaled, his shoulders rolling back. “King Lars’s daughter.”
“Offspring of a high demon and pure fairy,” Warwick replied, cautiously watching her. “They were highly illegal in the Otherworld because of the blend of powers. Most would go insane because the mix of magic was too much to handle.”
“The Dark Dweller in her keeps her somewhat rational.” “Let me guess, you’re talking about your dick and not the fact I actually am a dark dweller too.”
“Istvan needs to be stopped. He’ll keep creating armies until no one can stop him. I will go down fighting, and I will take him with me.” “How about we kill him, and you let me go down on you?” I glanced at her over my shoulder, wishing our link was there so I could slide my tongue through her pussy. “War-wick.”
“I will seriously fucking kill you both if you start this shit right now.” Scorpion rolled up next to us with a bark. His mood was darker than mine since Hanna left, which was saying a lot. “I’d cut off my arm if it would untie me from you two.” “Worth a shot.” I shrugged. Brexley hit my back, shaking her head.
The fae world understood the seriousness of the claim. It went beyond soulmate or wife, husband or partner. It was sacred, and if you knew a pair was mated, like the two I was looking at, you knew fucking with one would rain fury down with the other.
“If you get near her, I will gut you and feast on your liver. If you and your puppy here want to get cocky and think you can fight the Wolf, then let’s go.”
“Dear boy, you can never lose a fae book. It goes where it wants
Ember Brycin, the girl who broke nature’s laws for the man who should not have lived.”
“Fuck,” Eli muttered, his gaze going to the lifeless form. His. The dead body was Eli’s. I blinked, turning to him. I could see him staring at himself. An eerie feeling came over me, understanding both of us had died that night. Both of us should still be dead.
Lightning struck the earth. Magic burned through my veins. Simultaneously, Eli and I gasped for air, coming back to life, the women we loved over us. “Sötét démonom.”
