“That smart mouth of yours is going to get you into trouble one day.
Euphoria: A feeling you get from a good fuck, or from stepping off of an airplane after spending almost an entire day strapped into a seat so tiny only your left ass cheek fits.
“On your knees. Grab the back of the couch,” I order
breathless, even though I am doing all of the work.
Guilt and regret make my head throb worse than any hangover can. I made a promise to myself and an unspoken promise to Oakley that this wouldn’t happen again.
Oakley will gut me if he finds out.” I set the bottle on the table and sit back down. “Not only Oakley. You know Gracie will tell Ava, right?” “I'm fucked.” My head drops, banging on the table.
You ask yourself questions like: How did I end up here? I didn't let him put it in my butt, right?
When I see nothing but black sheets, I sit up quickly, a chill sweeping over me. He better be cooking me breakfast right now.
not even a single pancake or drop of coffee waiting for me. I put my hands on my hips and straighten my back. So this is how it's going to be, eh? Tyler Bateman, you are in for one hell of a rude awakening.
Ava picks up on the tense energy quickly and looks at Oakley with narrowed eyes. “What did you do?” “Me? Why don't you ask the little girl silently begging for your help?” Oakley speaks to Ava but his words are directed at Gracie.
Ava gave me a hard time about using such a hefty amount of tanning oil before I left her room, considering I burn even under a thick layer of SPF, and tanning lotion probably isn’t the smartest choice to avoid that. But if there’s one thing I’m going to get on this trip, it’s a freaking tan.
praying that nobody caught the eggplant emojis in my eyes just now.
“I am broken. But don't ever feel sorry for me. I don't need your sympathy.”
That’s my fucking girl.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
“Let me in,” she murmurs quietly, inching closer to me. The seconds flick away slowly around us. “You wouldn't like what you would see.”
I know love isn't easy, but is it supposed to be this hard? Leave it to me to fall for the guy who doesn't want to be loved.
“Two vanilla cones please,” Cody says pointedly, cutting me off, ordering not only for himself but for me as well. Oh, I don't think so.
Fuck. What are you doing to me, Gracie Hutton?
“Where does that leave you then? What's your so-called addiction?” I ask curiously. My skin flares when he turns and locks his eyes with mine. “You, Gray. I think I'm addicted to you.”
“Do you want me to drop the towel? It seems to be obstructing your view.”
My words seem to spark a reaction from inside him because he whips his head to the side and lets out a string of curses before smashing our mouths together.
I'm a shitty person in case you forgot.
“Good.” “Good?” “Yes, good. Gracie might be the only girl on this planet that can put up with all of your bullshit. She's good for you.”
“Who wants to watch a movie?”
“I would rather go upstairs and make our own,”
By the time I reach the carpeted staircase, she's placed her head in the curve of my neck, giving me the feeling she's been awake the entire time and just wanted a free ride. “If you wanted me to carry you, all you had to do was ask,” I whisper, my words barely audible as I attempt to see if I'm right. I feel her body tense just as a soft giggle meets my ears.
“I think I'm falling in love with you,” she whispers,
Or maybe, I'm just a really petty bitch. Either way, it doesn't matter.
We are not ever going to happen. And if you want to keep your friendship with Gracie, then I suggest you accept that and stop trying to fuck her boyfriend behind her back. Have some respect for yourself, Jessica.”
My blood thumps in my throat, and I nearly choke on air when he pulls his helmet off and smiles that damn spine-chilling smile. Right. At. Me.
she broke the number one rule of being a best friend. Never fall for your best friend's crush.
“He's my neighbour.” “That's cool. Why is he here? In your kitchen? When you're wearing the same amount of clothes you do when you make coffee every morning after I fuck your brains out?”
“If you see her in the lobby, turn around. If she's in the elevator when the doors open, wait for the next one. If you can see her wherever you are, close your fucking eyes. But I don't want to find you so much as breathing the same air as her again unless you want to spend the remainder of your days in a fucking wheelchair. Got it, Cody?”
He's mine. I always knew he was, but fuck does it feel good to hear.
“Yeah?” Please don't say something that will tear me to shreds while I'm standing naked as the day I was born with cum dripping down my thighs.
“Yeah. Or else telling you that I'm in love with you would have been incredibly awkward.”
she'll be okay. It's only for a few days. Nothing's going to happen in three days.
She made me promise her that I would marry Ava in Hawaii like she's always dreamed. That I would walk you down the aisle and be the one that gave you away. That if presented the chance, I should bail you out of jail, no questions asked.”
“Would we be living here or at your place? Because I don't fit in your castle, and you sure as shit don't fit in mine, princess.”
“Asshole.” “Too late to leave me now. My return policy is long expired.”
I've known you for years—treated you like a son without knowing that you've been my blood the entire time.
Adam steps outside, a miniature version of himself gripping his hand for dear life. It doesn’t take long for Adam to speak just one word that falls as heavy as a bed of bricks, cutting through the cool night air. “Surprise?”
