Time no longer existed to Alex. She’d wake up, attempt to move, and fail in an extraordinary display of dizziness often accompanied by dry heaving that renewed her headache. Then, after a while, exhaustion would overtake her, and she’d fall back to sleep. Had days passed? Or hours?
Sure, Alejandra, your survivalist friend got to shore and is probably looking for you, so why not go hide someplace she’ll never fucking find you!
This guy might look like a god, but he had the personality of a sea urchin.
Alex wanted to laugh at how flustered he’d become. “Nothing good about my outfit?” He took a deep breath and smirked, seeming to alight on something. “Well, if you fall off our transport platform, at least you’ll float down to the net.” Alex’s chin dropped in stunned humor. “Was that a joke, Auzzy?”
Alex’s breath caught in her throat, and her sex clenched. She could feel something large and hard pressing into her back. “This is why,” he breathed into her hair. “Touching may be normal for you, but it isn’t for me.”
As if his soul recognized he was lost for words, a purr suddenly rumbled through his chest.
Meg and Alex looked at each other with dropped jaws half curled in exuberant smiles. Without any prompt, they both yelled, “‘This is Sparta!’”
His whole life he’d always felt needed. Needed as a soldier, as a brother, as a guard, sometimes as a male, but he couldn’t remember ever feeling wanted.
They were here together now. She was his, and he was hers. And she was greedy. She might not be able to keep him forever, but she could have this perfect day. She’d regret it more if she didn’t give herself to him now than if she’d held back for the sake of her heart. A part of it was already his anyway.
No one would ever compare to Auzed. She was sure of it. He’d ruined her for all other men.
