I can tell she's avoiding my gaze. She's spent so long hating me that she doesn't know how to react to this change in our relationship—or what it means. I don't know either but what I do know, without a shadow of a doubt, is that I won't be able to stop after one time. I rack my brain for something to say that can ease her nerves.
