“Yeah. I mean, like, I shouldn’t have kissed you. I was so drunk I wasn’t thinking straight.” A+ choice of words there.
Once you’ve learned shame, it settles into your skin like a tattoo. You can cover it up but you can’t scrub off the sense of inadequacy.
Enabling is just another word for self-preservation, sometimes.
To just lie there and not give anything back. To somehow trust that I’ll still have worth to the other person if I’m not earning it.
