“There are good days and hard days for me—even now. Don’t let the hard days win.”
His laughter had chased me up the stairs.
“Do not,” Rhys said with deadly quiet, “condescend to her.”
“Do not insult Feyre for speaking with her heart, with compassion for those who cannot defend themselves, when you speak from only selfishness and cowardice.”
The smile the world would likely never see, the smile he’d given up for the sake of his people, his lands.
I belonged only to me, as my future was mine to decide, to forge.
