Yes high school kids follow crowds but just because you couldnt see distress or your trans kid not knowing what they were feeling was distress (cause i felt a lot of it when I was young but had no idea what it was called )it may feel like it just showed up. But if it was taught for all t understand some might not have to go through all that turmoil.
