A photographer was below the stage taking my picture, and I thought, Hallelujah… press! When I was done, there was a critic who’d come backstage with Bob to shake my hand, and she hinted at something on the horizon. So I felt well supported and appreciated by my label, finally, and I was very happy that night. When I was done I wished everyone else good luck and left with my family—they were only in town for the night so that my little sister didn’t miss too much school.
