“And I would tear the stars from the sky to see what you are capable of, Kore.”
She wanted him to rip the stars from the sky just to see what the sudden night would feel like.
If only she could stare into his eyes and see the woman he saw.
But there was a fire inside her that rivaled the sun itself.
They were two souls reaching out for each other, he supposed. And he could only be satisfied if he could bask in her sunshine forever.
She had a secret she held to her breast like a pearl within her shell. She clutched the knowledge of him with her entire soul and hoped that no one would ever find out. Hades was hers and hers alone.
He kissed her with a passion that stole her breath away. Hot breath poured into her own lungs, igniting a fire within. She burned. She ached.
He exhaled a tempest into her very soul. He fanned a storm to life and suddenly, she knew life would never be the same. His kiss had branded her forever. More than branded.
He knew if she wanted the world at her feet, he would lay waste to the lands for her. And if she wanted the stars in the sky, he would rip them apart just so she could smile at him. That amount of emotion for another person was startling in such a short amount of time.
He wanted to shout that he could deny her nothing. If she wanted to rip the Underworld open and let the sunlight spill in, then he would fight the rest of the Olympians for eternity to make that happen for her. He would unravel the very fibers of the world if she so craved.
Maybe it was hope that made him see a spark of fire in her eyes. More than heat. It was want. Need. An aching burn that was mirrored in his own chest when he looked at her.

He pressed his fingertip to each individual freckle there. “When I first saw you, I wanted to spend eternity counting each one of these,” he murmured. “Why would you waste your time doing that?” “So I know how many stars are on your body.” He wouldn’t mind knowing how many galaxies were on her celestial skin. If he could, he would have spent their entire evening counting them.
He was her heart. He was her soul.
“Time is nothing in comparison to the love I feel for you. You could be gone a century, and the fires would still be burning in my chest. I adore you,
