Still giggling, she dug in her purse and pulled out a tampon wrapped in a pink plastic wrapper. “You might need this,” she spoke louder than she needed to, wanting everyone to hear. She tossed it over to me, and I didn’t reach to catch it. The wrapped tampon hit the front of my shirt, and then fell to my feet.
