Many of us spend our lives as workaholics for God, hoping it will save our souls and make us worthy of God’s kingdom, while God keeps breaking in to tell us worthiness is not the issue, but only relationship. The underlying problem is that, under such circumstances, we’re never going to love God. We can’t love God because we won’t like such a God.
