Making the railway policemen take pride in their organisation, restoring to the commuters their stolen belongings bought out of their hard-earned income, deterring pickpockets and bag-lifters, creating community-police partnership to ward off stone-pelters, all these may not be considered extraordinary jobs, but they were immensely satisfying to the policeman in me.
