Rain Will Come

Daniel could already be there.

Daniel was in Paul's room just hours ago. How could he possibly be in Tennessee already which was previously mentioned to be half a day away?

Now, as he stood as natural as God intended, he momentarily forgot about the army of abnormal cells attacking his brain.

Strange sentiment for an atheist.

The detective was heavier than he thought,

Why would Daniel think that Paul was heavier than the first time he lifted Paul's unconscious body into the chair?

His BlackBerry rang. He picked it up without looking and held it against his ear.

Still covered with the priest's blood and bowel contents??

“Since when do you smoke?” She shrugged. “I don’t. But I really needed that.”

And didn't even cough? Right.

“It’s worse. It’s Florida.”

This is insulting on so many levels.

That was stupid. Paul doesn't even know what is going on yet.

He appeared thinner than he’d seemed in Tennessee, if that was possible.

Paul saw Daniel two days ago. So it was not possible.

And the truth is, it wasn’t something you would have wanted to read.

To tell the truth, this version was barely something readable!

And finally, my family.

I certainly wouldn't blame this mess on my own family.
